Scholarships

 

Taylor High School PTSA offers scholarships up to $1,000 to graduating Taylor High School seniors who will be enrolled full-time in an accredited college, university or technical institute the summer or fall semester immediately following the applicant’s high school graduation. All funds for the scholarships are provided by monetary gifts to the PTSA Scholarship Fund.

 

Through our scholarship program, the Taylor High School PTSA works to support students who are seeking to achieve career goals through higher education. In evaluating each application, participation in PTSA and school activities, service and community involvement, and scholastic merit will be considered.

 

Eligibility

  • Applicant must be a graduating Taylor High School senior with a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

  • Applicant must be a Student Member of the Taylor High School PTSA by November 1, 2026.

  • Applicant must plan to be enrolled full-time in an accredited college, university or technical institute in the summer or fall semester immediately following high school graduation. (Proof of acceptance and enrollment will be required before scholarships are announced and money is distributed.)

  • A completed application must be received in the Counselor’s Office by Feb. 15, 2027 at 2:45pm.

Preparing your application

​The applicant must complete the full application to be considered. This includes:

  • The completed Application Form.

  • A resume, limited to one page, listing school activities, community involvement, special recognitions and awards received in high school, and any work experience during high school.

  • Unofficial high school transcript.

  • Two (2) letters of recommendation from high school teachers, administrators, counselors, employers or individuals (not family) with significant knowledge of the applicant’s experience and involvement.

  • A one (1) page essay following the topic provided on the Application.
    Essay must be on a separate paper and be typed in 12 point Times New Roman font and double-spaced.

Note: Incomplete applications will not be considered.

  • Institutional acceptance letter must be submitted once received for final award consideration. Proof of enrollment must be provided before awards are distributed.

Applications might be reviewed in multiple rounds, and finalists may be asked for additional information. Students should forward proof of acceptance to an accredited institution once received.

 

Awards will be announced publicly at the Taylor High School Awards Night. Awardees must provide proof of enrollment and additional information specific to their institution regarding the distribution of scholarship funds no later than 30 days after notification of award.

 

Scholarships will be given directly to the applicant in the form of a check made out to the institution of enrollment, unless the awardee’s institution requires the check to be mailed directly to them with accompanying forms (provided by the awardee). Fees for lost checks are the responsibility of the awardee.

 

Failure to meet the deadlines for this additional information will result in the forfeiture of the scholarship money.

 

All entries submitted to Taylor High School PTSA become the property of Taylor High School PTSA and will be retained for one (1) year.
